Product description

Product description

This fusible interlining is made up of a plain weave cotton backed with a layer of quality adhesive that activates when exposed to heat (a hot iron). This backing adheres well to fabric without making bubbles. Because it is woven, it inhibits stretching.

This fusible interlining is useful for adding stiffness to fabric and to help it hold its shape better. It can be used as an interface in places like collars, button areas, and along seams in fabrics that tend to fray easily. But it can also be used as an interlining for entire pattern pieces. Lightweight fusible interlining is useful for adding strength to thick corset materials too.

The fabric weight listed includes the adhesive layer.

Use

Iron in a slow, steady movement from the center of the piece to the edge. Press down firmly on the iron; pressure is as important as heat when applying fusible interlining. If the fashion fabric allows, garments incorporating this interlining may be washed warm (40°C or 104°F) or dry cleaned.
