Product description
Tencel is a fine, yet sturdy, fiber made of cellulose derived from the eucalyptus. This crepe weave showcases its excellent properties – it drapes well, breathes, and stays cool to the touch. Tencel crepe georgette has a pebbled texture that plays games with the light, so if you hold it at the right angle, its otherwise matte surface has an enticing, dull sparkle.
Like other crepes, this fabric works in a range of garments, from light tops to dresses, skirts, palazzo pants and culottes. And Tencel is soft enough for children and those with sensitive skin.
Tencel belongs to the rayon family and, like rayon, is made of natural, plant-based materials. In comparison to classic rayon, however, it is much more durable and many times eco-friendlier. Its manufacture produces minimal waste, making it an ecological choice. The water and other materials used in its production are nearly entirely recuperated and reused and, unlike cotton, it requires no pesticides.
Tencel is a trade name for lyocell, and is identical.
