Product description

Product description

Genuine 100% flax linen thread (weight Tex 33x2) is a comparable to ordinary unbleached thread but is slightly softer. It is good for hand sewing coarser materials such as linens from 220 g/m2 (6.5 oz. per sq. yd.) and wool, and anything that you want to stitch firmly because it holds well. For hand and machine sewing of medium-coarse fabrics, try our fine linen thread 20x3. For finer fabrics we recommend an extra fine linen thread.

Linen thread is especially well-suited for sewing historically accurate period costumes. Thread made of linen was widely used before the introduction of cotton thread in the nineteenth century.

Care

Linen thread can be laundered at 60°C and ironed on high. When caring for garments sewn with linen thread, follow care guidelines for the fabric used.
