Japanese sashiko embroidery needles
Sturdy Japanese needles for sashiko needlework will not bend and are just the right size for thick sashiko thread. For sashiko, the Japanese technique of embroidering minimalistic geometrical patterns, a non-twisted and non-mercerized thread is used, giving sashiko its unique look. Embroidery can be done on any strong fabric in a plain weave in white or blue, such as our heavy-weight linens. Special sashiko fabric, made especially for this purpose, is also available. Choose from solid blue indigo-dyed cotton as well as Japanese sashiko fabrics with pre-printed, wash-out pattern templates.
