On any corset the lacing eyelets come under enormous stress with use. In time the holes can enlarge and the eyelets rip out. Steel lacing bones help prevent this from happening. Just insert them along the lacing line and set the eyelets in the holes provided.
These lacing bones are made of sturdy, plastic-coated steel. They can be shortened with metal cutters; just file and finish the ends as you would with any steel boning. Each bone is 37.6 cm (14 ¾") long with 2.5 cm (1") between holes and fits in our 5.5 mm (¼") wide boning channels. When placing lacing bones, take care to align the holes on both sides. For greater comfort, we recommend bending the lacing bones slightly to follow the curve of the spine (when bent by force, they will retain a slight curve).
To best compare various types and widths of boning, order our boning sampler.
