Product description

A sturdy knit fabric made of eco-friendly modal and cotton with a prominent structure that resembles a fine rib and is really pleasant to the touch. Great for everyday clothing, t-shirts, tops, dresses, leggings, and comfy loungewear.

Modal cotton blend jersey

This substantial single jersey has a pronounced V-shaped knit texture on the face, resembling a very fine rib. Unlike finer, more fluid modal jerseys, it has a fuller hand and a more structured drape.

Modal contributes dimensional stability, long-lasting vibrant colors and greater resistance to pilling. Like viscose, modal is heavier than cotton, so bear in mind that T-shirts made from this fabric will also feel heavier.

Cotton gives the jersey a fuller hand and reduces the overall fabric weight, making it feel more like the familiar cotton jersey traditionally used for T-shirts.

What to sew with this jersey

This modal cotton blend jersey has a pronounced texture (to the naked eye it looks like a fine rib knit). It’s sturdy and holds its shape well, making it a good match for standbys like t-shirts, tops, dresses, leggings, and comfy loungewear.

What is modal?

Modal is an exquisitely soft, smooth material made from natural cellulose, similar to viscose but with improved performance characteristics. Its exceptional comfort, breathability, and absorption help maintain a pleasant microclimate.

Modal is made differently than ordinary rayon, making it sturdy, pill-resistant, colorfast, and non-shrinking. What’s more, modal is actually more eco-friendly than cotton; its production is pesticide free and consumes far less water.

For more detailed information about modal and other regenerated cellulose fabrics, read our article about viscose.

Care

Wash at 30°C. Iron at medium to high heat (wool, max. cotton). Though modal and cotton can stand higher temperatures, elastane is more sensitive, so treat the fabric gently. This fabric is colorfast and pill resistant.

FAQ

Is your product assortment always the same?

Most of our fabrics are one-time offers that last until they are sold out. However, some more popular items are always restocked or can be ordered on request. As a rule, this applies to notions, where the selection is pretty consistent, but may also include some types of fabric. Look at the product's availability value – it shows whether the goods are available while supplies last, in the core inventory or in a seasonal collection.

What is a seasonal collection?

The goods in the seasonal collection come directly from our verified manufacturers. We change up the colors on offer from season to season but fabric quality is always constant. For large (wholesale) orders, colors that have been sold out can be reordered individually.

What is the smallest amount of fabric I can order?

The minimum fabric order is a length of 20 cm.

Do you accept orders by phone or email?

No. We only accept retail orders through the e-shop. This eliminates situations where someone else orders the last of an item while your order is still sitting in our inbox or lies jotted on a bit of paper by the phone. By purchasing online, you are putting an immediate hold on the product. Of course, you can always call or write to us if you need help making your selection.

Do you ship abroad?

Yes. We ship worldwide. The price of shipping is automatically calculated at checkout before payment after you select the country of delivery and the preferred carrier. If you do not find your country in the dropdown list, please contact us. You will find a rough overview of shipping costs in our shipping and payment terms.

When will my order be delivered?

The estimated delivery date with your selected carrier can be seen before payment is made at checkout. It is calculated as the time for processing and packing your order plus the time it takes the selected carrier to deliver to a specific destination – this can be from 2 days for delivery within the Czech Republic to a week for delivery outside the EU. Expect longer delivery times during big sales and holidays.
