Product description

Product description

Sturdy cotton poplin in antique rose certified safe for children under 3. A universal, fine cotton fabric for dresses, shirts, and even pants. Easy to sew and great for beginners; easy to care for too.

Cotton poplin

Cotton poplin is a densely woven, medium strong fabric made of fine cotton threads. It is similar to plain cotton fabric, but the fineness of the thread and the much denser weave make it sturdier and smoother and give it a crisp hand that is perfect for pleats and voluminous gathers.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

This fabric is certified OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Class I – the highest rating, which guarantees safety for children under three. Certification means that the fabric does not contain harmful substances and poses no health risks, so you can use it with confidence for clothing and items that will come into direct contact with a child’s sensitive skin.

Organic cotton

This fabric is made of premium organic cotton that has been certified for environmentally responsible production – from ecological farming to final processing. Organic cotton is not just good for the planet, it also delivers finer quality compared to ordinary cotton.

What to use it for

Cotton poplin is a truly universal fabric that can be worn year-round and sewn into practically anything: gathered skirts and circle skirts, dresses, shirts, simple tops, men’s shirts, lightweight pants, and comfortable clothing for children.

Poplin is easy to cut and sew, which makes it great for beginners. It should be shrunk before sewing (steam with an iron).

Care

Machine wash warm (40°C). Iron on cotton setting. Use a low spin cycle – gentle handling will extend your fabric’s lifespan.

FAQ

Do you have a permanent designer fabric collection?

Our designer fabrics are limited editions that we renew each year. If you find a fabric you like in the designer section, we recommend purchasing it without delay, as it’s unlikely to be restocked once sold out.
