A luxurious knit made from eco-friendly Tencel™ Lyocell, with an exceptionally smooth, soft feel and beautiful drape. Noticeably softer and more refined than ordinary rayon knits, it is comfortable all day long. The ideal fabric for t-shirts, tops, dresses and loungewear, as well as lingerie and nightwear.
This eco-friendly knit stands head and shoulders above other rayon jerseys, making it the obvious choice if you’re looking for a quality t-shirt material.
At first glance, and first touch, you might easily mistake it for a premium silk knit.
This double-knit fabric has the same, finely ribbed texture on both front and back. A great advantage of ribbed knits is their high elasticity. They can stretch a great deal without giving way.
This knit is perfect for any number of base pieces. Try it for:
Tencel knit’s stretch and elegant drape also shine in:
Tencel, or lyocell, is a modern, eco-friendly cellulose fiber produced from wood. It is part of the rayon family, however, compared to standard rayon, it is stronger, more durable and better retains its properties when wet.
One great advantage is its more environmentally friendly production. Cellulose is processed in a closed-loop system, where the water and solvents used for production are largely captured, purified and reused. This results in less waste, making production significantly more resource-efficient.
The wood used to produce lyocell comes from controlled sources. Furthermore, trees do not require the intensive irrigation or pesticides that some other textile crops demand.
The result is a material that combines softness, drape and comfort with strength and durability – which is why it is ideal for comfortable items that are worn often.
Lyocell is a general term for a type of cellulose fiber derived from wood using the closed-loop manufacturing process described above. Tencel™ is a trade mark under which the Austrian company Lenzing markets premium cellulose fibers, including Tencel™ Lyocell, from which this knitted fabric is made.
So, while not all lyocell is Tencel™, Tencel™ Lyocell is always lyocell produced by Lenzing in accordance with its own standards and technologies.
Tencel knit can be machine washed. Proper care will keep your fabric soft and supple and colors vibrant.
Most of our fabrics are one-time offers that last until they are sold out. However, some more popular items are always restocked or can be ordered on request. As a rule, this applies to notions, where the selection is pretty consistent, but may also include some types of fabric. Look at the product's availability value – it shows whether the goods are available while supplies last, in the core inventory or in a seasonal collection.
The goods in the seasonal collection come directly from our verified manufacturers. We change up the colors on offer from season to season but fabric quality is always constant. For large (wholesale) orders, colors that have been sold out can be reordered individually.
Yes, most fabrics include a “Order swatch” button directly on the product page. Swatches are typically about 8 Ă— 12 cm in size. For full instructions, please see 👉 How to order fabric swatches
The minimum fabric order is a length of 20 cm.
No. We only accept retail orders through the e-shop. This eliminates situations where someone else orders the last of an item while your order is still sitting in our inbox or lies jotted on a bit of paper by the phone. By purchasing online, you are putting an immediate hold on the product. Of course, you can always call or write to us if you need help making your selection.
Yes. We ship worldwide. The price of shipping is automatically calculated at checkout before payment after you select the country of delivery and the preferred carrier. If you do not find your country in the dropdown list, please contact us. You will find a rough overview of shipping costs in our shipping and payment terms.
The estimated delivery date with your selected carrier can be seen before payment is made at checkout. It is calculated as the time for processing and packing your order plus the time it takes the selected carrier to deliver to a specific destination – this can be from 2 days for delivery within the Czech Republic to a week for delivery outside the EU. Expect longer delivery times during big sales and holidays.
