Product description

Product description

This light Tencel fabric in grey has a gentle drape and is great for sewing blouses, dresses, skirts, palazzo pants, and casual wear as well as nightwear. It is smooth to the touch and very comfortable against bare skin.

Its twill weave gives it a subtle, diagonal stripe on the face with a slight sheen. The back has a matte surface and the weave is almost invisible. The two sides can be combined when sewing to achieve interesting effects.

Tencel is a cellulose-based fiber like other members of the rayon family but it is more durable than ordinary rayon. Its manufacture is environmentally friendly, creating very little waste – all water and chemicals used in production are recuperated and recycled. What’s more, the cellulose used in Tencel is derived from wood that comes from controlled sources and (unlike cotton) does not require additional irrigation or the use of pesticides.

Tencel is a registered trademark used for lyocell and is the same material.

Care

Hand wash or machine wash at 30°C on the gentle cycle. Avoid wringing dry, simply press out excess water. Rough handling may break some fibers. Iron on the cotton setting.
